Nicholas LoVerde

University of Colorado – Boulder

I graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. At the School of Journalism I focused on newspaper writing and editing. My teachers included a Newsweek writer, a New York Times contract photographer, and a Pulitzer Prize winner.

There I first realized my passion for writing. The more I learned about writing the more I fell in love with its ability to communicate and move people.  I wrote stories about a late night Taco Bell drive thru, gay hate crimes, school board meetings, and alligator wrestling.

Here are a few examples of my work there:

Testimonial

“In three months as Nick LoVerde’s journalism professor, I have seen his tenacity to find not only the story, but the humanity behind it. He spends more time than most students to find out what makes people tick – whether he’s covering a speech by Michelle Obama or wading into a pond where a man wrestles alligators. I believe his ease with people from a wide range of views and passions will make him a fantastic applicant for any job opportunity. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Thank you.” Jim Sheeler, Professor University of Colorado
